“In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest
where no-one sees you, but
sometimes I do, and
that sight becomes this art.”

Wall-e

I build walls
To keep out those who
May hurt me
Or judge me
Or laugh at my
Choices in life

I build walls
To keep out them
Who do not understand
Or let me live
The way I live
Loud or loved
Quiet or quite
Adequate

I build walls
To keep out those
Who come unannounced
Barging in to my
Life as I go about
Humming my tunes
Tunelessly

But wait
Perhaps these walls
Are not to keep
Them out
But to keep me in
With just my selfish self
For company
