“In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest
where no-one sees you, but
sometimes I do, and
that sight becomes this art.”

Grace for the generic human

Cold February

Iz kamakawiwo'ole singing somewhere over the rainbow on YouTube

She in a pink jumper and leopard spotted woolly socks slow dances with Tiny Trouble wearing of all things a sky blue cape and purple jammies, face lit up in a grin missing two front teeth

As the big man croons with unexpected gentleness ...

I watch them swaying gently in the middle of our living room like slender kelp saplings in warm ocean currents when -

suddenly -

- the other one shoots across my line of vision carrying a gianormous beige teddy bear on his head as if nothing could be more mundane

Perfect Sunday Afternoon
