“In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest
where no-one sees you, but
sometimes I do, and
that sight becomes this art.”

Superpower

If I were to be bitten

By a mutant arachnid

Or bathed in eerie

gloaming radiance

Perhaps ejected in

infancy in fancy Lycra

From an imploding world

I do not wish to walk

upside down on ceilings

Or make molten metal

From a single stare

Grant me just one wish

One superpower

To belt out

At the top of my voice

Holding a tune

With careless ease

Bits of my soul

Raining down on all

Within earshot

Gladly bathe I would -

in Kryptonite no less

If only I could ...

Sing

Just once

before I die
